Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Remote Video Editor Assistant to join our dynamic digital content team. This entry-level position is perfect for someone passionate about video production, eager to learn, and ready to contribute to high-quality content that reaches millions. You will play a crucial role in the post-production process, supporting our senior editors and ensuring our video projects are polished and delivered on time. While no prior professional experience is required, a keen eye for detail, a strong desire to learn, and basic familiarity with video editing concepts are a plus. This is a 100% remote opportunity, allowing you to work from anywhere within Alberta.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist senior video editors with various post-production tasks, including footage organization, logging, and asset management.
  • Perform basic video editing tasks such as cutting, trimming, and assembling raw footage under guidance.
  • Help with color correction, audio mixing, and graphic insertion as directed.
  • Ensure all project files are correctly named, stored, and backed up according to company standards.
  • Research and gather necessary assets, including music, sound effects, and stock footage.
  • Transcribe dialogue and create subtitles/captions for video content.
  • Review and provide feedback on drafts to ensure quality and adherence to brand guidelines.
  • Stay updated on the latest video editing software and techniques.
  • Collaborate effectively with remote team members through digital communication tools.

Required Skills

  • Basic understanding of video editing principles and software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve).
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote environment.
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace or Microsoft Office Suite.
