Job Description

Bupa UK is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Remote Patient Support Representative to join our growing team. In this fully remote role, you will be the first point of contact for our patients, providing essential administrative and empathetic support related to their healthcare journey. You will play a crucial role in ensuring a seamless and positive experience for our members, addressing their queries, coordinating appointments, and navigating them through our services. This position requires excellent communication skills, a strong ability to empathize, and a commitment to delivering outstanding patient care from a home-based environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide first-class patient support via phone, email, and online chat, ensuring a positive and professional experience.
  • Answer patient inquiries regarding appointments, services, billing, and general healthcare information.
  • Schedule, reschedule, and cancel patient appointments in accordance with clinic policies.
  • Coordinate with clinical staff and other departments to resolve patient issues and facilitate care.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential patient records in the electronic health record (EHR) system.
  • Educate patients on available Bupa services and resources.
  • Handle sensitive information with discretion and adhere to strict data protection guidelines (e.g., GDPR, DPA).
  • Identify and escalate complex issues to appropriate medical or administrative personnel.

Required Skills

  • Previous experience (at least 1 year) in a customer service or patient support role, preferably in healthcare.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong empathetic listening and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in using CRM software and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote setting.
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Access to a reliable internet connection and a quiet home office environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Customer Service or Healthcare Administration.
  • Experience with Bupa-specific systems or similar large healthcare provider platforms.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare processes.
