Job Description

As a Remote Online Systems Tester, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of our online systems and applications. This is a 100% remote position, allowing you to work from anywhere within Scotland. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and executing test plans, and identifying and reporting defects to help deliver exceptional user experiences. You will collaborate with development teams and product managers to ensure comprehensive test coverage and timely resolution of issues.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases for online systems and applications.
• Perform various types of testing, including functional, regression, integration, and user acceptance testing.
• Identify, document, and track software defects thoroughly using bug tracking systems.
• Collaborate closely with development teams, product managers, and other stakeholders to ensure comprehensive test coverage and timely resolution of issues.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of testing processes, methodologies, and tools.
• Provide clear, concise, and timely defect reports, test summaries, and progress updates.
• Participate actively in agile scrum ceremonies and embrace agile development practices.

Required Skills

• Proven experience (minimum 2-3 years) in software quality assurance and online systems testing.
• Strong understanding of software development life cycles (SDLC) and various testing methodologies.
• Hands-on experience with test management tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, or TestRail.
• Familiarity with web technologies including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to work effectively and independently in a 100% remote environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with automated testing tools (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright).
• Knowledge of performance testing and security testing principles.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
• ISTQB Foundation Level certification or equivalent.
• Experience testing cloud-based applications on platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP.
