Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Recycling Officer to join our team in Albuquerque, New Mexico. This crucial role involves overseeing and optimizing recycling operations, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations, and promoting sustainable waste management practices within our facilities and the local community. The successful candidate will be instrumental in developing and implementing recycling initiatives, managing operational efficiency, and engaging with various stakeholders to enhance our environmental footprint. Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee daily recycling operations, ensuring efficiency, safety, and compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations.
- Develop, implement, and monitor recycling programs and initiatives aimed at increasing diversion rates and reducing landfill waste.
- Conduct regular site inspections and audits of recycling facilities and collection points to identify areas for improvement and ensure adherence to best practices.
- Collect, analyze, and report on recycling data, including volumes, costs, and environmental impact, to track progress and inform strategic decisions.
- Engage with community members, businesses, and educational institutions to promote recycling awareness and participation.
- Identify and evaluate new technologies and methods for waste processing and recycling to enhance operational effectiveness.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including operations, logistics, and environmental health and safety, to achieve sustainability goals.
- Provide training and guidance to staff on proper recycling procedures, waste segregation, and safety protocols.
- Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations on recycling performance and initiatives for management and external stakeholders.
- Ensure all activities comply with environmental permits and company policies.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in waste management, recycling operations, or environmental services.
- Strong knowledge of environmental regulations and sustainability principles.
- Excellent project management and organizational skills.
