Job Description

We are seeking a talented and passionate React Developer to join our dynamic team in Durham, UK. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain robust, scalable, and high-performance front-end applications using React.js and related technologies.
  • Collaborate with product managers, UX/UI designers, and backend developers to translate design mockups and wireframes into clean, functional code.
  • Write clean, well-documented, and testable code following best practices and coding standards.
  • Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality, share knowledge, and mentor junior team members.
  • Optimise applications for maximum speed and scalability.
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing software.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies to ensure our applications remain cutting-edge.
  • Contribute to all phases of the development lifecycle, from concept to deployment.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a React Developer or similar role.
  • Strong proficiency in JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, and CSS3.
  • In-depth understanding of React.js and its core principles.
  • Experience with popular React workflows (e.g., Flux or Redux, Context API).
  • Familiarity with RESTful APIs and modern authorisation mechanisms (e.g., JWT).
  • Experience with front-end build tools (e.g., Webpack, Babel).
  • Proficiency with version control tools, particularly Git.
  • Solid understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues and ways to work around them.
  • Ability to write unit and integration tests for front-end components.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with TypeScript.
  • Familiarity with Next.js or other server-side rendering frameworks.
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies.
  • Understanding of CI/CD pipelines for front-end applications.
  • Strong understanding of UI/UX principles and best practices.
  • Leadership or mentoring experience within a development team.
