Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Radiographer to join our dynamic Radiology team at Tampa General Hospital. This is an exceptional opportunity for qualified international candidates, as visa sponsorship is available. The successful candidate will perform a variety of diagnostic radiographic procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety while producing high-quality images for accurate diagnosis. You will work with state-of-the-art imaging equipment in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment, collaborating closely with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to deliver outstanding patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform general radiographic procedures as ordered by physicians, ensuring optimal image quality.
- Position patients accurately and safely for all examinations, explaining procedures clearly to reduce anxiety.
- Operate radiographic equipment, including selecting appropriate technical factors and ensuring proper radiation protection.
- Evaluate images for technical quality, proper labeling, and patient identification.
- Maintain detailed and accurate patient records, including screening, procedures performed, and radiation dosages.
- Adhere to all safety protocols, institutional policies, and regulatory guidelines (e.g., ARRT, ALARA principles).
- Assist radiologists with interventional procedures as needed.
- Participate in departmental quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Provide compassionate and patient-centered care at all times.
- Maintain and troubleshoot equipment, reporting malfunctions promptly.
Required Skills
- Current ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification or eligibility
- State of Florida license as a Radiologic Technologist (or ability to obtain)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Radiographer in a hospital setting
- Strong knowledge of radiographic anatomy, physiology, and pathology
- Proficiency in operating various radiographic equipment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
- Attention to detail and commitment to patient safety
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Radiologic Technology or a related field
- Experience with PACS systems and electronic health records (EHR)
- Advanced certifications (e.g., CT, MRI) are a plus
- Experience in a level I trauma center or large acute care hospital
