Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic team in Apache Junction, Arizona. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all costs relating to building and civil engineering projects, from initial calculations to the final figures. You will work to minimize the costs of a project and enhance value for money, while still achieving the required standards and quality. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring that projects are completed within budget and to the highest commercial standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets, and financial forecasts for construction projects.
  • Manage and negotiate contracts with subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
  • Monitor project progress, track expenditures, and prepare regular financial reports.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate commercial risks throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Perform valuation of completed work and arrange for timely payments.
  • Prepare and submit variation orders, change orders, and claims in accordance with contractual agreements.
  • Ensure strict compliance with project specifications, quality standards, and relevant industry regulations.
  • Provide expert advice on contractual matters and cost-saving opportunities.
  • Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure project success.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry.
  • Proficiency in construction cost estimation software (e.g., On-Screen Takeoff, Bluebeam, CostX).
  • Strong understanding of construction contracts, legal frameworks, and commercial practices.
  • Exceptional analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to accurately read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with proven ability to build strong professional relationships.
  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional certification (e.g., RICS, AACEI, CQS).
  • Experience with BIM (Building Information Modeling) software for cost management.
  • Master's degree in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
  • Previous experience on large-scale commercial, industrial, or infrastructure projects.
  • Familiarity with local Arizona construction market and regulations.
