Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Quality Engineer to join our dynamic team in Buffalo, NY. This critical role is responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of our cutting-edge products and processes, from design to manufacturing. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in implementing and maintaining quality standards, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and collaborating across engineering, production, and supply chain teams. Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance protocols and methods for new and existing products and processes.
- Conduct root cause analysis for quality issues and implement effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Perform internal and external quality audits to ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., AS9100, ISO 9001) and customer requirements.
- Collaborate with design engineering during product development to ensure 'Design for Quality' principles are integrated.
- Support production teams in troubleshooting quality concerns, providing technical guidance and training.
- Analyze quality data, identify trends, and present findings to management for continuous improvement initiatives.
- Manage supplier quality, including qualification, performance monitoring, and issue resolution.
- Prepare comprehensive quality reports and documentation.
- Participate in risk assessments and FMEA activities.
Required Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Aerospace preferred).
- Minimum 4 years of experience as a Quality Engineer in a manufacturing environment (aerospace, defense, or similar high-reliability industries highly preferred).
- Strong understanding of quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100).
- Proficiency in quality tools and methodologies (e.g., FMEA, SPC, Lean, Six Sigma, 8D, PPAP).
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications (GD&T).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Legal eligibility to work in the USA with employer-sponsored visa support.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Engineering or a related field.
- ASQ Certifications (CQE, CSSBB, CQA).
- Experience with advanced inspection techniques and metrology.
- Familiarity with aerospace and defense industry regulations and standards.
- Demonstrated experience in leading continuous improvement projects.
