Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Quality Assurance (QA) Intern to join our engineering team in Tucson, Arizona. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced defense technology environment, working alongside experienced engineers on real-world projects. As a QA Intern, you will be instrumental in ensuring the quality and reliability of our cutting-edge missile systems and related software. You will contribute to test plan development, execution, and defect tracking, playing a vital role in our product development lifecycle. This position is ideal for students pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field who are eager to apply their academic knowledge in a practical setting and make a tangible impact.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the development and execution of test plans, test cases, and test scripts for software and system components.
• Perform various types of testing, including functional, regression, integration, and performance testing.
• Identify, document, and track software defects using established bug tracking systems.
• Collaborate with software developers and system engineers to ensure timely resolution of identified issues.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of QA processes and methodologies.
• Support the creation and maintenance of test data and test environments.
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to project discussions.
• Learn and apply industry best practices for quality assurance.

Required Skills

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Basic understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and quality assurance principles.
• Familiarity with at least one programming language (e.g., Python, Java, C++).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with test management tools (e.g., JIRA, Azure DevOps).
• Knowledge of automated testing frameworks and tools.
• Experience with scripting languages for test automation.
• Basic understanding of embedded systems or hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing.
• GPA of 3.0 or higher.
