Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Remote Beginner QA Assistant to join our dynamic technology team. This is an excellent opportunity for an entry-level professional eager to kickstart a career in software quality assurance. As a QA Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our banking applications and systems. You will work closely with developers and product managers to identify, document, and track software defects, contributing directly to a seamless user experience for our clients. This is a 100% remote position, offering flexibility and the chance to contribute from anywhere within South Africa.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the creation, execution, and maintenance of test cases for various software applications.
- Perform manual testing to identify and report software defects, inconsistencies, and usability issues.
- Document test results thoroughly and accurately, including steps to reproduce bugs.
- Collaborate with development teams to understand requirements and ensure comprehensive test coverage.
- Support senior QA engineers in preparing test data and setting up test environments.
- Participate in daily stand-ups and team meetings, providing updates on testing progress.
- Learn and apply best practices in software quality assurance processes and methodologies.
- Provide constructive feedback and suggestions for improving application quality and user experience.
Required Skills
- Matric/Grade 12 certificate or equivalent.
- Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to problem-solving.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Basic understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) concepts.
- Proficiency in using common office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a remote team.
- A keen interest in technology and a willingness to learn about banking systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Post-matric qualification in IT, Computer Science, or a related field (e.g., Diploma, Certificate).
- Familiarity with any bug tracking tools (e.g., JIRA, Azure DevOps).
- Prior experience with basic SQL queries or understanding of database concepts.
