Job Description

The Public Policy Coordinator will play a crucial role in supporting Procter & Gamble’s Government Relations and Public Policy team. This position involves monitoring legislative developments, conducting research, preparing reports, and assisting in the coordination of P&G’s engagement with policymakers, industry associations, and other stakeholders. The ideal candidate will be a highly organized, detail-oriented individual with a strong interest in public policy and a passion for advancing P&G’s business objectives through effective advocacy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor legislative and regulatory activities at federal, state, and local levels, identifying potential impacts on P&G's business.
  • Conduct research on specific policy issues, legislative proposals, and regulatory changes.
  • Prepare briefing materials, presentations, and reports for senior leadership on key public policy matters.
  • Assist in coordinating meetings with government officials, trade associations, and external partners.
  • Support the development and execution of public policy strategies and initiatives.
  • Manage and maintain databases of legislative information, contacts, and policy positions.
  • Draft correspondence, policy summaries, and internal communications related to public policy efforts.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including legal, communications, sustainability, and R&D, to ensure alignment on policy positions.
  • Represent P&G at relevant industry events, conferences, or coalition meetings as needed.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Political Science, Public Policy, International Relations, Law, Communications, or a related field.
  • 2-4 years of experience in government relations, public affairs, legislative affairs, or a related public policy role.
  • Strong understanding of the legislative process and regulatory environment.
  • Excellent research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven organizational skills and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., MPP, MPA, JD).
  • Experience working in a corporate public policy department, trade association, or on Capitol Hill/state legislature.
  • Familiarity with consumer goods industry policies and regulations.
  • Experience with legislative tracking software or databases.
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
