Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Public Health Program Specialist to join our dedicated team. This vital role will be instrumental in supporting and advancing public health initiatives within our research hospital context, focusing on community outreach, health education, and program evaluation. The specialist will work collaboratively with various departments to develop, implement, and monitor programs aimed at improving health outcomes for pediatric populations and their families, both within our hospital and the broader community. Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and manage public health programs and interventions, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and public health best practices.
  • Conduct needs assessments and evaluations of existing and new programs, utilizing data to inform program improvements and decision-making.
  • Develop and deliver health education materials and presentations for diverse audiences, including patients, families, and community groups.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external community partners to foster strong relationships and expand program reach.
  • Monitor program budgets, timelines, and resources, ensuring efficient and effective program delivery.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports, grants, and presentations on program activities, outcomes, and impact.
  • Stay informed about current public health trends, policies, and research relevant to pediatric health and oncology.
  • Provide technical assistance and support to program staff and partners as needed.

Required Skills

  • Master's degree in Public Health (MPH), Health Education, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in public health program development, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Demonstrated experience in health education and community outreach.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in data collection, analysis, and reporting for program evaluation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a healthcare or research setting, particularly with pediatric populations.
  • Familiarity with grant writing and management processes.
  • Bilingual proficiency (e.g., Spanish) is a plus.
  • Certification in Public Health (CPH) or similar professional certification.
