Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Public Health Advisor to join our community health team. The Public Health Advisor will play a critical role in assessing community health needs, developing and implementing public health programs, and advising on health policy initiatives to improve population health outcomes within Omaha and the surrounding areas. This position requires strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of public health principles, and the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive public health needs assessments and epidemiological analyses to identify key health disparities and priorities within the community.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate evidence-based public health programs and interventions.
- Provide expert advice and consultation on public health matters to internal departments, community organizations, and local government agencies.
- Monitor public health trends, prepare reports, and present findings to various audiences.
- Collaborate with community partners, stakeholders, and interdisciplinary teams to foster healthy communities.
- Advocate for public health policies and initiatives that promote health equity and access to care.
- Contribute to grant writing and funding acquisition for public health projects.
- Educate the public and healthcare professionals on critical public health issues.
Required Skills
- Master's degree in Public Health (MPH) or a related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in public health, community health, or a related advisory role.
- Strong understanding of public health principles, epidemiology, biostatistics, and health policy.
- Demonstrated ability to design, implement, and evaluate public health programs.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation abilities.
- Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified in Public Health (CPH).
- Experience working with diverse populations and community health initiatives in Nebraska.
- Familiarity with local, state, and national public health regulations and guidelines.
- Experience with grant management and funding proposals.
