Job Description

Join GardaWorld as a Protective Services Officer, safeguarding critical federal facilities and assets within Quebec City. This role involves maintaining a secure environment, responding to incidents, and ensuring compliance with established security protocols. You will be an integral part of a dedicated team committed to protecting government property and personnel, contributing to the safety and operational continuity of essential services.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct regular patrols of assigned federal premises, both on foot and via vehicle.
• Monitor surveillance equipment, including CCTV cameras and access control systems.
• Control access to restricted areas, verifying credentials and managing visitor entry/exit.
• Respond promptly and effectively to alarms, emergencies, and security breaches.
• Enforce federal regulations and facility-specific security policies.
• Prepare detailed and accurate incident reports, daily logs, and other documentation.
• Provide assistance and information to visitors and employees in a professional manner.
• Collaborate with local law enforcement and emergency services as required.
• Conduct thorough searches of individuals, vehicles, and packages when necessary and authorized.
• Operate and maintain specialized security equipment.
• Maintain a high level of vigilance and situational awareness at all times.

Required Skills

• Valid Quebec Security Guard license.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in security, law enforcement, or military.
• Fluent in French and English (spoken and written).
• Excellent observational and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to remain calm and decisive under pressure.
• Proficiency in basic computer applications and security software.
• Physical fitness to perform duties, including prolonged standing, walking, and occasional lifting.
• Valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Government of Canada security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in a related field (e.g., security management, criminology).
• Experience working in a federal or government facility.
• First Aid and CPR certification.
• Use of force training or certification.
• Knowledge of relevant federal security policies and procedures.
