Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Property Appraiser to join our dynamic team in San Antonio, TX. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting comprehensive property valuations for a diverse portfolio of commercial real estate assets, including office, retail, industrial, and specialized properties. This role requires a keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to produce accurate, well-supported appraisal reports that adhere to industry standards and client requirements. You will play a crucial role in providing crucial data and insights that drive strategic decisions for our clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough on-site property inspections and gather relevant market data.
- Perform in-depth research and analysis of comparable sales, market trends, and economic indicators.
- Develop and apply appropriate valuation methodologies, including the sales comparison, cost, and income approaches.
- Prepare clear, concise, and defensible appraisal reports in compliance with USPAP and client-specific guidelines.
- Interact professionally with clients, property owners, brokers, and other stakeholders to collect necessary information.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of local zoning regulations, land use laws, and real estate market conditions.
- Manage multiple appraisal assignments simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
- Collaborate with team members and senior appraisers on complex projects.
Required Skills
- Certified General Appraiser License (or working towards designation) in Texas
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in commercial property appraisal
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Real Estate, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field
- Experience with ARGUS Enterprise or other valuation software
- MAI designation or candidacy
- Knowledge of local San Antonio and broader Texas commercial real estate market trends
