Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and visionary Product Owner to join our dynamic product development team in Gateshead. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, UX/UI, and marketing, to ensure successful product delivery from concept to launch.

Key Responsibilities

• Define, prioritize, and maintain the product backlog, ensuring alignment with overall product strategy and business objectives.
• Translate high-level product strategy into detailed user stories and acceptance criteria.
• Collaborate daily with scrum teams to clarify requirements, provide guidance, and ensure efficient development cycles.
• Act as the primary liaison between stakeholders (customers, sales, support) and the development team.
• Participate in agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
• Monitor product performance, gather feedback, and iterate on features to continuously improve the user experience and business value.
• Stay informed of market trends, competitive landscape, and emerging technologies to identify new opportunities.
• Manage stakeholder expectations and communicate product roadmap and release plans effectively.
• Champion the voice of the customer throughout the product development lifecycle.

Required Skills

• Proven experience as a Product Owner or similar role in software development.
• Strong understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to define clear, concise, and actionable user stories.
• Experience with product backlog management tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps).
• Demonstrated ability to balance business needs with technical feasibility.
• Strategic thinking with a customer-centric approach.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Fluency in English (written and verbal).

Preferred Qualifications

• Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or similar certification.
• Experience in the enterprise software, accounting, or payroll industry.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
• Experience working with globally distributed teams.
• Familiarity with UX/UI principles and design thinking.
