Job Description
Are you a proactive and analytical student with a passion for building innovative products? Shopify is seeking a talented Product Management Intern to join our dynamic team in Calgary. You will work alongside experienced Product Managers, contributing to various stages of the product lifecycle, from research and ideation to launch and iteration. Key Responsibilities
- Assist Product Managers in conducting market research, competitive analysis, and user interviews to identify pain points and opportunities.
- Support the development of product specifications, user stories, and wireframes for new features and enhancements.
- Collaborate with engineering, design, and data science teams to ensure effective product delivery.
- Participate in sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives, contributing to team discussions and problem-solving.
- Help analyze product performance data and user feedback to inform future product iterations.
- Prepare presentations and reports for internal stakeholders on product progress and insights.
- Champion the merchant's voice throughout the product development process.
Required Skills
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, Design, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Demonstrated interest in product management, technology, and e-commerce.
- Proficiency in using productivity tools (e.g., Google Workspace, Jira, Confluence).
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a related internship, project management role, or startup environment.
- Familiarity with agile development methodologies.
- Basic understanding of data analysis tools or SQL.
- Experience with UI/UX principles or design thinking methodologies.
