Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Procurement Specialist to join our dynamic team in Sunderland. This is a unique opportunity for a skilled professional with a strong background in procurement and supply chain management who requires visa sponsorship to work in the UK. The successful candidate will be instrumental in managing key supplier relationships, optimizing procurement processes, and ensuring cost-effective acquisition of goods and services critical to our manufacturing operations. You will play a vital role in our supply chain, contributing directly to our operational efficiency and product quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end procurement process, from requisition to payment, for assigned categories.
- Develop and implement strategic sourcing initiatives to identify, evaluate, and select suppliers.
- Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers to achieve favorable agreements and cost savings.
- Monitor supplier performance against agreed KPIs, conduct regular reviews, and drive continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders (Engineering, Production, Finance) to understand material and service requirements.
- Identify and mitigate supply chain risks, ensuring continuity of supply.
- Maintain accurate procurement records and ensure compliance with company policies and relevant regulations.
- Contribute to cost reduction targets and value engineering initiatives.
- Support the integration of new suppliers and manage existing supplier relationships effectively.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Procurement Specialist or similar role, preferably within the manufacturing or automotive industry.
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in procurement software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP Ariba, Oracle).
- Solid understanding of supply chain management principles and best practices.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
- CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply) qualification or equivalent.
- Experience working with international suppliers and managing global supply chains.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles.
