Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and experienced Procurement Officer to join our dynamic team in Rotherham. This role is crucial for ensuring the efficient and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services required for our operations, upholding our high standards of quality and reliability. The successful candidate will be instrumental in managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and optimizing procurement processes to support our business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end procurement process, from requisition to order placement and delivery.
- Identify, evaluate, and select new suppliers based on quality, price, and delivery capabilities.
- Negotiate favorable terms, conditions, and pricing with suppliers to achieve cost savings and value for money.
- Develop and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with key suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Monitor supplier performance and ensure compliance with contractual agreements and quality standards.
- Prepare purchase orders, manage inventories, and reconcile invoices.
- Conduct market research to identify new products, services, and suppliers.
- Implement and enforce procurement policies and procedures.
- Assist in resolving supply chain issues, discrepancies, and disputes.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of strategic procurement initiatives.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Procurement Officer or similar role.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in procurement software and MS Office Suite.
- Solid understanding of supply chain management principles.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy.
- Valid UK driving license.
Preferred Qualifications
- CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply) qualification or working towards it.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience working within a large distribution or manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of SAP or similar ERP systems.
