Job Description

As a Procurement Manager at Tesla, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing all procurement activities for specific categories, ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services. This critical role involves strategic sourcing, supplier relationship management, contract negotiation, and continuous improvement initiatives. You will work closely with engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to support production goals and drive operational excellence. This position requires a proactive leader with a strong background in procurement, excellent negotiation skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute category-specific procurement strategies to achieve cost savings and improve efficiency.
• Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, cost, and delivery performance.
• Negotiate contracts, terms, and conditions with suppliers to secure favorable agreements.
• Manage supplier relationships, including performance reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders (Engineering, Manufacturing, Finance) to understand material requirements and align procurement efforts.
• Monitor market trends, raw material costs, and supply chain risks to inform strategic decisions.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Lead cross-functional teams on procurement projects, from sourcing to implementation.
• Implement best practices in procurement to drive innovation and operational excellence.
• Manage inventory levels and optimize supply chain flow to support production schedules.

Required Skills

• Minimum 5 years of experience in procurement, supply chain management, or strategic sourcing.
• Proven track record of successful contract negotiation and supplier management.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
• Proficiency in enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Demonstrated leadership abilities and experience managing cross-functional projects.
• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree or MBA in a relevant field.
