Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Procurement Manager to join our dynamic team in St Helens, Merseyside. This is a critical role responsible for overseeing and managing the procurement process for key categories, ensuring optimal value, quality, and timely delivery while supporting our ambitious sustainability goals. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in strategic sourcing, vendor management, and negotiation, with a proven ability to drive cost efficiencies and innovation. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement sourcing strategies for assigned categories to achieve cost savings, quality improvements, and supply chain efficiencies.
- Manage the end-to-end procurement process, including supplier selection, contract negotiation, and performance management.
- Conduct market research and analysis to identify new suppliers, technologies, and trends.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders across departments (e.g., R&D, manufacturing, marketing) to understand their needs and align procurement strategies.
- Monitor and evaluate supplier performance, addressing issues and fostering strong, collaborative relationships.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Identify and mitigate supply chain risks, ensuring business continuity.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the procurement function.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management.
- Demonstrated experience in strategic sourcing and negotiation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP Ariba, Oracle) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Proven ability to manage complex supplier relationships.
- Understanding of legal aspects of procurement contracts.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply) qualification.
- Experience in the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) industry.
- Master's degree in a relevant discipline.
