Job Description

Shelby County Schools is seeking dedicated and enthusiastic Primary School Teachers to join our vibrant educational community in Memphis, Tennessee. Key Responsibilities

• Design and deliver comprehensive, engaging lesson plans aligned with state curriculum standards and district guidelines.
• Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment conducive to learning for all students.
• Assess student progress regularly using a variety of methods and provide constructive feedback.
• Maintain accurate and timely records of student attendance, grades, and behavioral data.
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, guardians, colleagues, and administrators regarding student development and academic performance.
• Collaborate with other teachers, special education staff, and support personnel to meet the diverse needs of students.
• Implement effective classroom management strategies to ensure a safe and productive learning space.
• Participate in professional development opportunities, faculty meetings, and school-wide events.
• Integrate technology into daily instruction to enhance learning experiences.

Required Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field from an accredited institution.
• Valid teaching license/certification in your home country, with eligibility for Tennessee teaching licensure.
• Demonstrated ability to create and implement engaging, age-appropriate lesson plans.
• Strong classroom management skills and ability to foster a positive learning environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with young children.
• Cultural sensitivity and ability to work effectively with a diverse student population.
• Adaptability and willingness to learn new teaching methodologies and technologies.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in Education or a specialized teaching area.
• Prior experience teaching at the primary school level (ages 5-10).
• Experience with differentiated instruction and supporting students with varying learning needs.
• Proficiency in integrating educational technology and digital resources.
• Fluency in a second language, particularly Spanish.
