Job Description
UMass Memorial Health is seeking a compassionate and skilled Podiatrist to join our growing team in Worcester, Massachusetts. This is an exceptional opportunity for a dedicated professional looking to make a significant impact on patient health within a supportive and collaborative environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, treating, and preventing conditions related to the foot, ankle, and lower leg, working with a diverse patient population ranging from children to geriatrics. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive patient care, including surgical interventions, wound care, and preventative education.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and treat a wide range of podiatric conditions, including foot and ankle injuries, diseases, and deformities.
- Perform surgical procedures on the foot and ankle when necessary.
- Manage chronic conditions such as diabetic foot complications, arthritis, and neuropathy.
- Prescribe and fit orthotics, prosthetics, and other assistive devices.
- Provide comprehensive wound care for lower extremity ulcers.
- Educate patients on foot health, preventative care, and post-treatment recovery.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records.
- Collaborate with primary care physicians, endocrinologists, vascular surgeons, and other specialists.
- Participate in continuing medical education and professional development activities.
Required Skills
- Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM) degree from an accredited institution
- Completion of an approved podiatric residency program
- Board Certification or eligibility in Podiatric Medicine and/or Surgery
- Current valid medical license or eligibility for licensure in Massachusetts
- Excellent diagnostic and clinical skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
- Commitment to patient-centered care and ethical practice
- Eligibility for visa sponsorship (if applicable)
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of post-residency clinical experience
- Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems
- Interest in participating in academic or research activities
- Fluency in multiple languages
