Job Description
Banner Health is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Physician Assistant to join our dynamic medical team in Mesa, Arizona. Key Responsibilities
- Obtain comprehensive patient histories and perform physical examinations.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as X-rays, EKGs, and laboratory studies.
- Formulate differential diagnoses and develop patient treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians.
- Prescribe medications, treatments, and therapies as appropriate, adhering to state and federal regulations.
- Provide patient education and counseling on health maintenance, disease prevention, and treatment plans.
- Assist in surgical procedures and perform minor procedures as credentialed.
- Document patient encounters accurately and timely in electronic medical records.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated and continuous patient care.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing medical education.
- Respond to medical emergencies and provide immediate care as needed.
Required Skills
- Current NCCPA certification or eligibility.
- Active Physician Assistant license in the State of Arizona, or eligibility for licensure.
- Master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
- Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Proficiency in electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Commitment to patient-centered care and ethical medical practice.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team-based healthcare setting.
- Prior experience in a relevant specialty area (e.g., primary care, urgent care, internal medicine, surgery).
Preferred Qualifications
- Two or more years of experience as a practicing Physician Assistant.
- Experience working with diverse patient populations.
- Demonstrated leadership potential and ability to mentor junior staff.
- Bilingual proficiency (especially Spanish) is a plus.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
