Job Description

Banner Health is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Physician Assistant to join our dynamic medical team in Mesa, Arizona. The Physician Assistant will work collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive medical care to patients, including diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing management of various health conditions. Key Responsibilities

• Obtain comprehensive patient histories and perform physical examinations.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as X-rays, EKGs, and laboratory studies.
• Formulate differential diagnoses and develop patient treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians.
• Prescribe medications, treatments, and therapies as appropriate, adhering to state and federal regulations.
• Provide patient education and counseling on health maintenance, disease prevention, and treatment plans.
• Assist in surgical procedures and perform minor procedures as credentialed.
• Document patient encounters accurately and timely in electronic medical records.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated and continuous patient care.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing medical education.
• Respond to medical emergencies and provide immediate care as needed.

Required Skills

• Current NCCPA certification or eligibility.
• Active Physician Assistant license in the State of Arizona, or eligibility for licensure.
• Master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
• Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• Proficiency in electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
• Commitment to patient-centered care and ethical medical practice.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team-based healthcare setting.
• Prior experience in a relevant specialty area (e.g., primary care, urgent care, internal medicine, surgery).

Preferred Qualifications

• Two or more years of experience as a practicing Physician Assistant.
• Experience working with diverse patient populations.
• Demonstrated leadership potential and ability to mentor junior staff.
• Bilingual proficiency (especially Spanish) is a plus.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
