Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pharmacy Technician to join our team in Durham, England. This is an exciting opportunity for an internationally qualified Pharmacy Technician looking to relocate to the UK, as we are offering visa sponsorship for the right candidate. You will play a crucial role in supporting our pharmacists, ensuring the efficient and safe dispensing of medicines, and providing excellent customer service. Key Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense prescription medicines under the supervision of a pharmacist.
- Provide advice and support to patients on the safe use of their medicines.
- Manage stock control and maintain appropriate inventory levels.
- Process prescriptions, including checking details and accuracy.
- Assist with the preparation of dosette boxes and other compliance aids.
- Maintain a clean and organised pharmacy environment.
- Adhere to all legal, ethical, and company guidelines and policies.
- Engage in continuous professional development to maintain and enhance skills.
- Support the pharmacist in delivering clinical services.
- Handle patient queries and provide excellent customer service.
Required Skills
- GPhC (General Pharmaceutical Council) registration or eligibility for registration as a Pharmacy Technician in the UK.
- A recognised Pharmacy Technician qualification from your home country.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience working as a Pharmacy Technician.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Proficiency in using pharmacy dispensing software.
- A strong commitment to patient care and confidentiality.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
- Basic IT skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office applications.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with UK pharmacy systems and practices.
- Previous experience in a community pharmacy setting.
- Knowledge of NHS services and prescribing guidelines.
- Fluency in additional languages is a plus.
