Job Description
We are seeking a warm, empathetic, and reliable Personal Companion to join our compassionate team in Corpus Christi. As a Personal Companion, you will provide essential non-medical support and companionship to our clients, helping them maintain their independence and enjoy a higher quality of life in their own homes. This role involves building meaningful relationships, engaging clients in enriching activities, and assisting with daily living tasks that do not require medical expertise. Key Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate companionship and emotional support to clients.
- Engage clients in stimulating activities such as reading, games, hobbies, and conversation.
- Assist with light housekeeping tasks (e.g., dusting, vacuuming, laundry).
- Prepare and serve nutritious meals and snacks, adhering to dietary restrictions.
- Provide medication reminders (non-administration).
- Accompany clients on outings, appointments, and social events.
- Assist with personal care tasks as needed (e.g., grooming, dressing, bathing – within non-medical scope).
- Monitor and report any changes in the client's condition or behavior to the care supervisor.
- Ensure a safe, clean, and comfortable living environment.
- Run errands such as grocery shopping or picking up prescriptions.
Required Skills
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum of 1 year of verifiable experience in a companionship or caregiving role (non-medical).
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation with current auto insurance.
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check and drug screen.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a compassionate nature.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to follow care plans and adhere to company policies.
Preferred Qualifications
- CPR/First Aid certification.
- Experience working with individuals with memory impairment or other age-related conditions.
- Enrollment in a relevant college program (e.g., Social Work, Psychology, Nursing Assistant).
