Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Pediatrician to join our dynamic team at Alder Hey Children’s NHS Foundation Trust in Liverpool. This is an exceptional opportunity for an international medical graduate with specialist training in Paediatrics who is looking for a supportive environment and visa sponsorship to establish their career in the UK. Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality medical care to pediatric patients, diagnosing and treating a wide range of conditions.
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, formulate treatment plans, and monitor patient progress.
- Participate in daily ward rounds, outpatient clinics, and emergency on-call rotas.
- Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team including nurses, allied health professionals, and other medical specialists.
- Communicate sensitively and effectively with children, their families, and guardians regarding diagnosis, treatment, and prognosis.
- Supervise and mentor junior medical staff and contribute to medical education.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records in accordance with trust policies and GMC guidelines.
- Actively participate in clinical governance, audit, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Contribute to the teaching and training of medical students and junior doctors.
Required Skills
- Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) with a license to practice.
- CCT (Certificate of Completion of Training) in Paediatrics, or equivalent specialist qualification from an overseas country.
- Demonstrable experience as a Consultant/Specialist Pediatrician.
- Excellent clinical knowledge and diagnostic skills in general pediatrics.
- Proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with children and families.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and make sound clinical decisions.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and lifelong learning.
- Eligibility for UK visa sponsorship (if applicable).
Preferred Qualifications
- Sub-specialty interest or fellowship training in a specific area of Paediatrics (e.g., Neonatology, Cardiology, Neurology).
- Experience in a tertiary care children's hospital setting.
- Evidence of participation in clinical audit or research projects.
- Leadership or management experience within a medical team.
- Teaching experience at undergraduate or postgraduate level.
