Job Description

Kaiser Permanente is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pediatrician to join our esteemed medical team at our San Francisco Medical Center. This is a unique opportunity for a skilled physician to provide comprehensive primary and preventative care to pediatric patients, from infancy through adolescence. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive primary medical care for pediatric patients from birth through age 18.
  • Conduct routine check-ups, immunizations, and developmental screenings.
  • Diagnose and treat acute and chronic illnesses, injuries, and other health conditions in children.
  • Offer preventative health care guidance and education to patients and their families.
  • Prescribe medications and treatments as necessary, adhering to best practices and protocols.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as X-rays and lab work.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient medical records.
  • Collaborate with specialists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure integrated patient care.
  • Participate in on-call rotations and provide after-hours care as required.
  • Adhere to all medical and ethical standards and regulations.

Required Skills

  • Medical Doctor (M.D. or D.O.) degree from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of an accredited Pediatric Residency Program.
  • Board Eligible or Board Certified in Pediatrics.
  • Current, unrestricted Physician and Surgeon license in the State of California (or ability to obtain prior to employment).
  • Current DEA registration.
  • BLS and PALS certification.
  • Demonstrated clinical expertise in general pediatrics.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills for interacting with children, parents, and colleagues.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary clinical environment.
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving abilities.
  • Commitment to patient-centered care and continuous learning.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Board Certification in Pediatrics.
  • Fluency in a second language (e.g., Spanish, Mandarin, Cantonese).
  • Experience working with diverse patient populations and cultural backgrounds.
  • Prior experience in an integrated health system.
  • Additional certifications or training in pediatric subspecialties.
