Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and efficient Packaging Operative to join our fast-paced logistics team in Swadlincote, Derbyshire. This entry-level position is crucial to our operations, ensuring that products are correctly packaged, labelled, and prepared for dispatch, meeting both quality standards and client specifications. Key Responsibilities
- Accurately pick, pack, and label a variety of products according to specific order requirements.
- Operate basic packaging machinery and equipment safely and efficiently.
- Perform quality checks on packaged goods to ensure they meet company and client standards.
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
- Assist with inventory management tasks, including stock rotation and cycle counting.
- Collaborate with team members to achieve daily production targets and operational goals.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or product quality issues to a supervisor.
- Follow all standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.
Required Skills
- Ability to follow instructions accurately and work independently or as part of a team.
- Good attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills for reading labels and counting items.
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift and move packages (up to 15 kg), and perform repetitive tasks.
- A positive attitude and a willingness to learn and adapt in a dynamic environment.
- Commitment to health and safety regulations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehouse, production, or manufacturing environment is a plus.
- Experience with packaging machinery or hand tools.
- Knowledge of basic inventory procedures.
- Forklift licence (advantageous, but not essential).
