Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Operations Manager to lead and optimize our manufacturing processes at the Tesla Gigafactory New York. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing daily operations, ensuring production targets are met efficiently, maintaining high-quality standards, and fostering a safe and productive work environment. This role requires exceptional leadership skills, a deep understanding of manufacturing principles, and a commitment to continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee daily production operations to ensure targets are met safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.
- Develop and implement operational strategies to optimize production processes, reduce costs, and improve overall efficiency.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of production supervisors and line employees, promoting a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement corrective actions as necessary to achieve operational goals.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, company policies, and quality management systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, quality assurance, logistics, and human resources to streamline operations.
- Manage departmental budgets, resource allocation, and inventory control to support production requirements.
- Identify and resolve operational bottlenecks, implement lean manufacturing principles, and drive process improvements.
- Prepare and present operational reports to senior management, highlighting performance, challenges, and proposed solutions.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in operations management within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Proven track record of successfully leading teams and managing complex production processes.
- Strong understanding of lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodologies, and continuous improvement tools.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Proficiency in production planning, scheduling, and inventory management systems.
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and leadership abilities.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Eligibility for visa sponsorship, if required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in a relevant field.
- Experience in the automotive, solar, or renewable energy manufacturing sectors.
- Certification in Lean Six Sigma (Green Belt or Black Belt).
