Job Description
Ubisoft is seeking passionate and detail-oriented Online Game Testers to join our remote quality assurance team. As an Online Game Tester, you will play a crucial role in identifying, documenting, and verifying defects in our upcoming and existing game titles, ensuring the highest quality standards for our global player base. This is a 100% remote position, offering you the flexibility to work from your home office in Sydney, Nova Scotia.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute test cases and test plans thoroughly across various game builds and platforms, including PC and consoles.
- Identify, reproduce, and accurately document software defects using bug tracking systems, providing clear and concise reproduction steps.
- Verify bug fixes and ensure the proper resolution of reported issues, performing regression testing as needed.
- Provide constructive feedback on game features, usability, game balance, and overall player experience.
- Collaborate effectively with developers, designers, and other QA team members through virtual communication channels.
- Participate in daily stand-ups and team meetings, contributing to team goals and discussions.
- Stay up-to-date with gaming trends, industry best practices, and new technologies to continuously improve testing methodologies.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in online gaming and familiarity with various game genres, platforms, and services.
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong analytical skills, with a methodical approach to problem-solving.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, capable of clearly articulating complex issues.
- Proficiency with PC gaming platforms and familiarity with current-generation console systems (e.g., PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch).
- Basic understanding of bug reporting and tracking software (e.g., JIRA, Azure DevOps, Bugzilla).
- Self-motivated and able to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines in a remote environment.
- Reliable high-speed internet connection and a quiet, dedicated workspace.
Preferred Qualifications
- 1+ year of experience in quality assurance or game testing, either professional or extensive volunteer/beta testing.
- Experience with different operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux) and mobile platforms (iOS, Android).
- Familiarity with network testing, online multiplayer game environments, and server-client interactions.
- Knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and various QA methodologies (e.g., agile, waterfall).
- Ability to learn new tools, proprietary software, and technologies quickly and adapt to changing project requirements.
- Passion for Ubisoft titles and a deep understanding of our game universes.
