Job Description
BT Group is seeking a diligent and proactive Office Porter / Custodian to join our facilities team in St Helens. This full-time role is crucial in ensuring our office premises are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness, orderliness, and safety, providing a pleasant and productive environment for all employees and visitors. The successful candidate will be responsible for a range of maintenance and cleaning tasks, as well as providing general support services to the office. Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily cleaning duties including vacuuming, sweeping, mopping floors, dusting surfaces, and emptying bins.
- Clean and sanitise restrooms, kitchenettes, and common areas to ensure hygiene standards are met.
- Replenish supplies such as toilet paper, hand soap, paper towels, and other consumables.
- Assist with the setup and clear-down of meeting rooms and event spaces, including moving furniture and equipment.
- Monitor and report any maintenance issues, damage, or hazards to the facilities management team.
- Support office staff with various tasks such as mail distribution, package handling, and general errands.
- Ensure all safety procedures are followed and maintain a secure working environment.
- Manage and store cleaning supplies and equipment efficiently.
- Adhere to company policies and health and safety regulations at all times.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in a similar cleaning or porter role.
- Knowledge of cleaning methods, products, and equipment.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to tasks.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Physical stamina and the ability to lift moderate weight and stand for extended periods.
- Reliable and punctual.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience working in a corporate office environment.
