Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Occupational Therapist to join our dynamic team at ChristianaCare. This role offers an exciting opportunity for qualified international candidates to work in a leading healthcare system in Delaware, USA, with comprehensive visa sponsorship available. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive occupational therapy services to patients with diverse needs, helping them achieve independence and improve their quality of life. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized treatment plans, assess patient progress, and provide education to patients and their families. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy evaluations to assess patients' functional abilities, limitations, and needs.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient assessments, goals, and evidence-based practices.
- Provide therapeutic interventions including therapeutic exercises, activities of daily living (ADL) training, assistive device training, and environmental modifications.
- Monitor patient progress, adjust treatment plans as necessary, and document all evaluations, interventions, and outcomes accurately and timely.
- Educate patients and their families/caregivers on therapeutic techniques, adaptive strategies, and home exercise programs.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, physical therapists, speech-language pathologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure integrated care.
- Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and continuous professional development activities.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, as well as ChristianaCare policies and procedures, upholding the highest standards of patient care and safety.
Required Skills
- Doctorate or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
- Current or eligible for Occupational Therapy licensure in the state of Delaware.
- National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) certification or eligibility.
- Strong clinical reasoning, assessment, and intervention skills across various patient populations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex information clearly.
- Ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary team environment.
- Demonstrated compassionate and patient-centered approach to care.
- Eligibility for visa sponsorship (e.g., H1-B visa or similar categories) and commitment to the sponsorship process.
Preferred Qualifications
- 1-2 years of clinical experience in an acute care, rehabilitation, or outpatient setting.
- Specialized certifications (e.g., Certified Hand Therapist, Lymphedema Therapist, Neuro-Rehabilitation Specialist).
- Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Fluency in multiple languages to better serve our diverse patient population.
