Job Description
Massachusetts General Hospital is actively seeking highly skilled and compassionate Nurse Practitioners to join our dynamic healthcare teams. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive health assessments, including physical exams and health history collection.
- Diagnose and treat acute and chronic illnesses within the scope of practice.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as lab work and imaging.
- Prescribe medications and other treatments as appropriate.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Provide health education, counseling, and disease prevention strategies.
- Perform minor procedures relevant to the specialty area.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and contribute to patient care conferences.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive patient records.
- Stay current with medical advancements and best practices through continuous education.
Required Skills
- Master's or Doctoral Degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
- Current RN and NP licensure (or eligibility to obtain) in Massachusetts.
- Current ANCC or AANP certification as a Nurse Practitioner in a relevant specialty (e.g., Family, Adult-Gerontology, Acute Care, Pediatrics).
- Proven clinical experience as a Registered Nurse or Nurse Practitioner.
- Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and treatment skills.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and team collaboration abilities.
- Ability to work autonomously and manage a diverse patient caseload.
- Demonstrated commitment to patient-centered care and evidence-based practice.
- Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner in an acute care or specialty setting.
- Experience in a large academic medical center.
- Bilingual proficiency (e.g., Spanish, Portuguese, Mandarin) to support our diverse patient population.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
