Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Nurse Practitioner to join our dynamic healthcare team in Bangor, Maine. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in providing comprehensive primary and/or specialized care to our diverse patient population. This position involves assessing, diagnosing, and treating patients, as well as providing health education and counseling. The ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator, a critical thinker, and dedicated to delivering exceptional patient outcomes within a collaborative practice model.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive physical examinations and health assessments.
  • Diagnose and treat acute and chronic illnesses.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests (e.g., lab work, X-rays).
  • Prescribe medications and other treatments as appropriate.
  • Develop and implement patient-specific care plans.
  • Provide health education and counseling to patients and their families.
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives.

Required Skills

  • Current, unencumbered Nurse Practitioner license in Maine.
  • Master's or Doctorate degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
  • Board Certification as a Nurse Practitioner (e.g., FNP, AGNP, PNP, PMHNP).
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Demonstrated clinical competency in diagnosis, treatment, and patient management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience as a practicing Nurse Practitioner.
  • Experience in a primary care or specialty setting relevant to the role.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • Experience with population health management.
