Job Description
Bell Canada is seeking an enthusiastic and driven Network Engineer Apprentice to join our dynamic team in Ottawa. Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior engineers in the design, configuration, and deployment of network infrastructure (routers, switches, firewalls).
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues under guidance.
- Document network configurations, procedures, and diagrams.
- Participate in scheduled network maintenance and upgrades.
- Learn and apply networking protocols (TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP) and technologies (LAN, WAN, VPN).
- Provide support for network-related incidents and requests.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of network operations and security.
- Engage in ongoing learning and professional development activities.
Required Skills
- Basic understanding of networking concepts (e.g., TCP/IP, OSI model).
- Familiarity with operating systems (Windows, Linux).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- High degree of motivation and willingness to learn.
- Enrollment in or recent completion of a post-secondary program in IT, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Ability to work on-site in Ottawa.
