Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and visionary Network Architect to join our dynamic team in Downtown Tacoma, WA. This critical role is designed for a seasoned professional capable of leading the design, implementation, and optimization of complex network infrastructures that support T-Mobile’s evolving services and vast customer base. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in network architecture principles, security best practices, and performance optimization, with a proven track record of delivering scalable and resilient solutions. Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop high-level and low-level network architecture solutions, ensuring alignment with business goals and technical requirements.
• Evaluate new network technologies and make recommendations for their integration into existing infrastructure.
• Lead the planning, design, and implementation of network upgrades, migrations, and expansions.
• Define network standards, policies, and procedures to ensure consistency, security, and reliability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, operations, and security, to ensure seamless integration and deployment of network solutions.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior network engineers.
• Conduct performance analysis and capacity planning to ensure network scalability and efficiency.
• Troubleshoot complex network issues and provide expert guidance for resolution.
• Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in network architecture and security.

Required Skills

• Expertise in TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VPNs, and other core networking protocols.
• Strong understanding of enterprise network security principles and technologies (firewalls, IDS/IPS, NAC, DDoS mitigation).
• Experience with cloud networking (AWS, Azure, GCP) and hybrid cloud architectures.
• Proficiency in network automation tools and scripting (e.g., Python, Ansible).
• Demonstrated ability to design and implement highly available and fault-tolerant network solutions.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, complex environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Industry certifications such as CCIE, JNCIE, or equivalent.
• Experience with SD-WAN, SDN, and Network Function Virtualization (NFV) technologies.
• Knowledge of wireless networking technologies (LTE, 5G).
• Experience in the telecommunications industry.
