Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Natural Resources Manager to oversee and optimize the sustainable management of natural resources within our West Yorkshire operations. This pivotal role involves developing and implementing strategies to ensure compliance with environmental regulations, enhance biodiversity, manage water resources responsibly, and promote circular economy principles. The successful candidate will lead a team, collaborate with stakeholders, and drive innovative projects to achieve our ambitious sustainability goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and monitor natural resource management plans in line with company policy and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead and manage a team of environmental specialists, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant environmental legislation, permits, and standards related to water, land, and biodiversity.
  • Identify opportunities for resource efficiency, waste reduction, and the adoption of circular economy principles.
  • Manage stakeholder relationships, including local authorities, regulatory bodies, community groups, and clients.
  • Conduct environmental impact assessments and oversee the implementation of mitigation measures.
  • Prepare and present reports on natural resource performance, trends, and future strategies to senior management.
  • Drive innovation in natural resource management practices and technologies.
  • Oversee budgeting and financial management for relevant projects and operations.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience (minimum 5 years) in natural resource management, environmental consulting, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of UK environmental legislation, policy, and best practices.
  • Demonstrated leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent project management capabilities, with a track record of delivering successful environmental initiatives.
  • Proficiency in data analysis, reporting, and presentation tools.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Valid UK driving license.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Environmental Science, Ecology, Natural Resource Management, or a related discipline.
  • Professional membership with relevant environmental bodies (e.g., IEMA, CIWEM).
  • Experience with GIS mapping and environmental modeling software.
  • Knowledge of sustainable agriculture or land management practices.
  • Certification in environmental management systems (e.g., ISO 14001).
