Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate MRI Radiographer to join our dynamic medical imaging team at Kaleida Health in Buffalo, NY. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of MRI procedures on patients of all ages, ensuring optimal image quality while maintaining patient safety and comfort. Key Responsibilities
- Perform complex MRI examinations according to established protocols and physician orders.
- Operate and maintain MRI equipment, ensuring proper calibration and functionality.
- Position patients safely and effectively for optimal image acquisition, providing clear instructions and reassurance.
- Review images for quality, completeness, and diagnostic accuracy, making adjustments as necessary.
- Administer contrast media as prescribed by a physician, monitoring patients for adverse reactions.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation within the hospital's electronic health record system.
- Adhere to all safety regulations, including MRI safety guidelines and infection control policies.
- Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with advancements in MRI technology and techniques.
Required Skills
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Radiologic Technology.
- Current ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification in MRI.
- Valid New York State Radiologic Technologist license (or ability to obtain prior to employment).
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as an MRI Radiographer in a clinical setting.
- Proficiency in operating various MRI scanner models and related software.
- Strong understanding of MRI physics, safety protocols, and imaging techniques.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient care skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Eligibility for U.S. visa sponsorship (e.g., H-1B, TN, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Radiologic Technology.
- Advanced certification in specific MRI specialties (e.g., Cardiac MRI, Neuro MRI).
- Experience with multiple vendor MRI platforms (e.g., Siemens, GE, Philips).
- Prior experience in an academic medical center or large hospital system.
- Bilingual proficiency is a plus.
