Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Minister of Religion to join our vibrant pastoral team in Albuquerque, New Mexico. This pivotal role involves providing spiritual guidance, administering sacraments, leading liturgical services, and offering pastoral care to our parishioners. The successful candidate will be a spiritual leader, fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment, and actively participating in community outreach and engagement. Key Responsibilities
- Lead and conduct liturgical services, including Masses, baptisms, weddings, and funerals.
- Deliver sermons and homilies that inspire and educate the congregation.
- Provide pastoral care, counseling, and spiritual guidance to individuals and families.
- Administer sacraments and rites according to Catholic tradition.
- Oversee religious education programs for all age groups.
- Engage in community outreach and interfaith initiatives.
- Participate in parish council meetings and contribute to the spiritual direction of the community.
- Offer comfort and support to the sick, elderly, and homebound.
- Prepare individuals for reception into the Church through catechetical instruction.
- Maintain accurate records and fulfill administrative duties as required.
Required Skills
- Ordination as a Catholic priest or equivalent recognized religious minister.
- Demonstrated strong theological background and adherence to Catholic doctrine.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Proven ability to lead and inspire a congregation.
