Job Description

Lockheed Martin is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Military Recruiter to join our talent acquisition team in Wilmington, Delaware. In this role, you will be instrumental in identifying, attracting, and onboarding top talent, specifically individuals with military backgrounds, to various critical programs and projects across our organization. You will leverage your understanding of military culture and experience to ensure a smooth transition for former service members into civilian careers within our company.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute comprehensive recruitment strategies tailored to attract military veterans and transitioning service members.
  • Source candidates through various channels, including military job boards, veteran organizations, career fairs, and professional networking events.
  • Conduct thorough screenings and interviews to assess candidates' qualifications, skills, and cultural fit for specific roles.
  • Provide guidance and support to veteran candidates throughout the application and onboarding process, addressing unique challenges.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with military bases, transition assistance programs, and veteran support organizations.
  • Collaborate closely with hiring managers to understand their needs and align recruitment efforts with business objectives.
  • Track and report on recruitment metrics, identifying areas for improvement and optimizing recruitment strategies.
  • Represent Lockheed Martin as an employer of choice at veteran-focused events and conferences.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in recruitment, with a focus on military talent acquisition.
  • Demonstrated understanding of military culture, ranks, and skill sets.
  • Proficiency in applicant tracking systems (ATS) and recruitment software.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior military service or direct experience working with military populations.
  • Experience recruiting for technical roles within the defense or aerospace industry.
  • Certifications in recruitment or human resources (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP, CIR).
  • Proven track record of successfully placing veterans into challenging and rewarding roles.
