Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Metal Fabricator to join our manufacturing team in Manchester. This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated professional looking to advance their career within a leading global company. The successful candidate will be responsible for cutting, shaping, and assembling metal components according to specifications and blueprints, utilizing various tools and machinery. Key Responsibilities
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine layout and dimensions.
- Cut, shape, and form metal components using a variety of tools and machinery, including saws, shears, brakes, and presses.
- Weld and join metal parts using various welding techniques (e.g., MIG, TIG, Arc) to create finished products or sub-assemblies.
- Operate fabricating machines such as rolls, brakes, and shears to bend, cut, and straighten metal.
- Inspect finished products for quality and adherence to specifications, performing necessary adjustments.
- Perform routine maintenance on fabrication equipment and tools.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Collaborate with engineers and other team members to ensure project completion.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and blueprints.
- Expertise in various welding techniques (MIG, TIG, Arc welding).
- Skilled in operating fabrication machinery (saws, shears, brakes, presses, rollers).
- Strong understanding of metal properties and fabrication processes.
- Ability to use precision measuring tools.
- Excellent attention to detail and quality craftsmanship.
- Strong problem-solving abilities.
- Commitment to safety protocols and procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Fabrication and Welding.
- Experience with CAD/CAM software.
- Forklift license.
