Job Description

As a Material Packer at Unilever’s Swansea facility, you will play a crucial role in our manufacturing and supply chain operations. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that our high-quality products are accurately packed, securely labeled, and properly prepared for distribution. This is an essential hands-on position that demands a keen eye for detail, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work effectively within a fast-paced team environment. You will contribute directly to the efficiency and quality control that defines the Unilever brand.

Key Responsibilities

• Efficiently pack finished goods into appropriate containers, boxes, or onto pallets following specific product guidelines and quality standards.
• Conduct thorough inspections of materials and products to identify any defects, damage, or inconsistencies before and after the packaging process.
• Apply labels accurately and clearly, ensuring all required product information, batch codes, and shipping details are present and legible.
• Safely and effectively operate basic packaging machinery and equipment, performing routine checks as required.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, strictly adhering to all company health, safety, and hygiene regulations.
• Assist with inventory management tasks, including counting materials and products, and supporting general material handling duties as needed.
• Collaborate proactively with team members and supervisors to ensure daily production targets are consistently met.
• Promptly report any equipment malfunctions, safety hazards, or quality control issues to the appropriate supervisor.
• Follow all standard operating procedures (SOPs) and company policies to ensure compliance and consistency.

Required Skills

• Ability to lift, carry, and move packages weighing up to 25 kg regularly throughout a shift.
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
• Basic literacy and numeracy skills to read instructions, labels, and perform simple calculations.
• Ability to comprehend and consistently follow verbal and written instructions.
• Proven track record as an excellent team player with a positive, can-do attitude.
• Strong commitment to maintaining a safe working environment and adhering to all safety protocols.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in a packing, manufacturing, warehouse, or similar industrial environment.
• Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) or similar quality control standards.
• Forklift operator certification or experience with other material handling equipment is a plus, but not essential.
• A secondary school diploma or equivalent.
