Job Description

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Logistics Management Specialist to join our team in Sydney, Nova Scotia. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing various aspects of our logistics operations, ensuring the efficient and timely flow of goods. You will play a crucial role in maintaining customer satisfaction and operational excellence, working collaboratively with various internal and external stakeholders. Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate daily logistics operations, including transportation, warehousing, and inventory management.
  • Optimize shipping routes and methods to minimize costs and improve delivery times.
  • Monitor and track shipments, ensuring on-time delivery and resolving any delays or issues.
  • Collaborate with carriers, suppliers, and internal departments to ensure seamless logistics processes.
  • Analyze logistics data to identify areas for improvement and implement effective solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant transportation regulations, customs procedures, and company policies.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate logistics documentation, reports, and records.
  • Participate in the negotiation of contracts with logistics providers and vendors.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of logistics strategies and best practices.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in logistics software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of domestic and international shipping regulations and customs procedures.
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certifications in logistics or supply chain management (e.g., CSCP, CPIM).
  • Experience with Lean or Six Sigma methodologies in a logistics setting.
