Job Description

Nannies of St. James’s is delighted to present an exciting opportunity for an experienced and dedicated Live-out Nanny to join a warm and welcoming family in Edinburgh. This full-time position involves providing comprehensive care and educational support for two delightful children, aged 3 and 6 years old. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in their daily lives, fostering their development, learning, and well-being. We are looking for a proactive, organized, and creative individual who can seamlessly integrate into the family’s routine while upholding the highest professional standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide full-charge care for two children (ages 3 and 6), including waking, dressing, bathing, and meal preparation.
• Organize and supervise engaging and age-appropriate educational activities, indoor and outdoor play, and creative projects.
• Manage the children's daily schedules, including school runs, extracurricular activities, and appointments.
• Prepare nutritious and healthy meals and snacks, ensuring dietary requirements are met.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized environment for the children, including tidying their rooms and play areas.
• Assist with homework and school projects, promoting a love for learning.
• Plan and execute fun outings to parks, museums, libraries, and other educational venues.
• Communicate effectively with parents regarding the children's progress, activities, and any concerns.
• Handle children's laundry and ensure their belongings are well-maintained.
• Administer basic first aid when necessary and manage minor illnesses.
• Foster good manners, respect, and social skills in the children.

Required Skills

• Minimum of 3 years of verifiable experience as a professional nanny in a private family setting.
• Valid Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
• Up-to-date Paediatric First Aid certification.
• Clean UK driving license and confident driver with own reliable vehicle (mileage reimbursed).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated ability to create engaging and educational activities.
• Proficiency in preparing healthy and balanced meals for children.
• Strong organizational and time management abilities.
• Discreet, professional, and reliable with a genuine love for children.

Preferred Qualifications

• Childcare qualification (e.g., CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Childcare and Education or equivalent).
• Experience with both toddler and school-aged children.
• Knowledge of early years development frameworks.
• Ability to speak a second language.
• Previous experience working for high-profile or busy families.
