Job Description
We are seeking an experienced, dedicated, and proactive Live-in Nanny to join a private household located in the vibrant city of Edinburgh. This is a unique opportunity to become an integral part of a loving family, providing exceptional care and support for their two children, aged 4 and 7. The ideal candidate will be warm, organised, energetic, and possess a genuine passion for child development and education. You will be responsible for all aspects of the children’s well-being, fostering a nurturing and stimulating environment, and supporting their daily routines and activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive care for two children aged 4 and 7, including supervision, engaging activities, and ensuring their safety and well-being.
- Manage daily routines, including school drop-offs and pick-ups, meal preparation (healthy and nutritious), bath time, and bedtime.
- Organise and facilitate educational and recreational activities, both indoors and outdoors, to support the children's development and interests.
- Assist with homework and school projects, ensuring a supportive learning environment.
- Oversee children's wardrobes, keeping their rooms tidy and organised.
- Handle light household duties related to the children, such as tidying play areas and children's laundry.
- Plan and execute fun outings, playdates, and cultural experiences.
- Communicate regularly and effectively with parents regarding the children's progress, activities, and any concerns.
- Travel with the family during holidays, as required.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 5 years of professional live-in nanny experience with verifiable references.
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
- Strong understanding of child development across various age groups.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Proactive, nurturing, and patient demeanour.
- Current enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
- Valid First Aid and Paediatric First Aid certification.
- Clean driving license.
- Non-smoker.
Preferred Qualifications
- Childcare qualification (e.g., CACHE Level 3 or equivalent).
- Experience with international travel with families.
- Proficiency in an additional language.
- Experience working in a structured private household environment.
- Skills in a specific area such as music, art, or sports coaching.
