Job Description
We are seeking a talented and dedicated Lighting Technician to join our dynamic production team in Brampton, Ontario. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to contribute to a wide range of live events, from concerts and festivals to corporate functions. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of lighting systems, a keen eye for detail, and a commitment to creating impactful visual experiences. Key Responsibilities
- Operate and program lighting consoles for various live events and productions.
- Set up, maintain, troubleshoot, and dismantle lighting equipment including fixtures, dimmers, cables, and control systems.
- Collaborate with directors, designers, and other technical crew members to achieve desired lighting effects.
- Perform pre-show checks and ensure all lighting equipment is in perfect working order.
- Implement and adhere to all safety regulations and procedures related to lighting operations.
- Assist with the loading and unloading of equipment, ensuring proper handling and storage.
- Stay updated on the latest lighting technology and industry best practices.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Lighting Technician in live events or theater.
- Proficiency in operating lighting consoles (e.g., GrandMA, Hog4, Avolites).
- Strong knowledge of DMX, Art-Net, and other lighting protocols.
- Ability to read and interpret lighting plots and technical drawings.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills for electrical and technical issues.
- Physical stamina to lift heavy equipment and work in various environments.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant certification or diploma in lighting design, technical theater, or a related field.
- Experience with CAD software for lighting design.
- Knowledge of video integration with lighting systems.
- Experience with rigging and aerial work platforms.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
