Job Description

We are seeking a vigilant and responsible Lifeguard to ensure the safety and enjoyment of our guests at the hotel’s aquatic facilities. The ideal candidate will be highly attentive, possess excellent swimming skills, and be committed to maintaining a safe and clean environment. This role requires quick decision-making and the ability to act calmly and effectively in emergency situations, while also providing friendly and helpful service to our guests.

Key Responsibilities

• Actively monitor the pool area to prevent accidents and ensure guest safety at all times.
• Enforce all pool rules and regulations fairly and consistently.
• Respond immediately and appropriately to all aquatic emergencies, including performing rescues and administering first aid, CPR, or AED as necessary.
• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the pool deck, lounge chairs, and surrounding areas.
• Report any safety hazards, equipment malfunctions, or guest concerns to management promptly.
• Provide friendly and professional assistance to guests, answering questions and ensuring a positive experience.
• Attend all scheduled in-service training sessions and maintain current certifications.
• Complete opening and closing duties as assigned.

Required Skills

• Current Lifeguard certification from a recognized organization (e.g., Red Cross, YMCA)
• Current CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer and First Aid certifications
• Exceptional swimming proficiency and endurance
• Proven ability to remain alert and focused for extended periods
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
• Must be at least 16 years of age

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Lifeguard, especially in a hotel or resort environment
• Experience with basic pool chemical maintenance and testing
• Bilingual in English and Spanish
