Job Description
DLA Piper is seeking motivated and talented Law Students to join our prestigious Legal Internship Program in Manchester. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough legal research and analysis, preparing concise memoranda, reports, and summaries for senior attorneys.
- Assist with the drafting, reviewing, and preparation of various legal documents, presentations, and correspondence.
- Support attorneys across a diverse range of practice areas, including corporate, finance, litigation, intellectual property, and real estate.
- Attend client meetings, depositions, and court proceedings (where appropriate and permitted), observing and learning from experienced practitioners.
- Maintain and organize complex case files, legal documents, and research materials with meticulous attention to detail.
- Collaborate effectively with other interns, legal teams, and administrative staff on assigned projects and initiatives.
- Actively participate in firm-wide training sessions, professional development workshops, and internal seminars.
- Contribute to knowledge management efforts by assisting in the collection and organization of legal precedents and resources.
Required Skills
- Currently enrolled in a law degree program (LLB, JD, or equivalent) at an accredited institution.
- Possess a strong academic record and a genuine passion for the law.
- Demonstrated excellent legal research, analytical, and writing skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and comfortable with legal research databases.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with an eye for detail.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, capable of conveying complex information clearly and concisely.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as an integral part of a collaborative team.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism, ethical conduct, and discretion at all times.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic work environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a legal setting (e.g., pro bono work, moot court, law clinic, legal volunteering).
- Familiarity with prominent legal research databases such as LexisNexis, Westlaw, or Practical Law.

- Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
