Job Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and meticulous Lab Assistant Intern to join our dynamic R&D team in Nottingham. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a state-of-the-art laboratory environment, supporting critical research and development projects. You will work alongside experienced scientists and technicians, contributing to the preparation, execution, and analysis of experiments related to health, beauty, and pharmaceutical products. Key Responsibilities
- Assist scientists and lab technicians with the preparation of samples, reagents, and equipment for experiments.
- Maintain laboratory cleanliness, sterilise equipment, and ensure adherence to safety protocols.
- Record and organise experimental data accurately and efficiently.
- Perform basic laboratory tests and analyses under supervision.
- Monitor laboratory inventory and assist with ordering supplies.
- Support the calibration and maintenance of laboratory instruments.
- Contribute to the proper disposal of chemical and biological waste.
- Collaborate effectively with team members on various research projects.
Required Skills
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a degree program in a scientific field (e.g., Biology, Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biomedical Science).
- Basic understanding of laboratory techniques and safety procedures.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
- Ability to follow instructions precisely and work independently when required.
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
